Our hormones are highly sensitive to environmental factors such as pollution, medications and our diets. Many people (men & women) live with hormone imbalances without being aware of it, however, suffer with indirect health issues such as digestive issues, low sex drive, unexplained dips in exercise performance, menstruation issues (e.g. extreme PMS, skipped periods etc.), imbalanced blood sugar and even inability to lose weight no matter how hard you try.

Foods that help balance hormones
With the right nutrition and by providing your body with essential nutrients, you can restore balance to your hormones naturally. Maca powder is one of those foods that is well known for its use as a hormone regulator and to improve stamina, energy and reproductive function. Lignans are another example and are known as phytoestrogens, which due to their chemical structure have the ability to increase or reduce oestrogen when an imbalance occurs (1). These lignans are only found in plants, specifically high in linseeds/ flaxseeds.
Ingredients:
1 banana
2 tsp. maca powder
2 tbsp. flaxseed/ linseeds
1 tbsp. hemp seeds
6 strawberries
1 handful raspberries
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
200-400ml coconut milk
Prepare all the ingredients by washing the strawberries & cutting off the stems. Place all the ingredients into a blender and blend until smoothe and creamy!
